If you love something set it free. If it comes back it’s yours. If not, it was never meant to be.
Then why, at all times, were we educated to fight for the things that we wish to attain the most in this world? Why were we taught that we need to chase the things we think we deserve? Why were we told that NOTHING in this world is free and that nothing is ever going to be offered to us on a silver platter?
They say that the things that are worth having in life – by no means come without difficulty. In fact, you always need to pay a huge price for the most gorgeous things this world has to offer, particularly LOVE.
But is it completely true? What if I tell you that that the best things in life come free?
Yes, that’s what we call destiny. At times, only your destiny can control if your relationship was meant to be. So, if they are what your destiny has in store for you, they will come back, even if you let them go.
“If you love something set it free. If it comes back it’s yours. If not, it was never meant to be.” How true is this quote?
Well, I know that love and relationships are not ever going to be an easy deed. Love isn’t something that would simply fall into your lap and would stay till the end of life without considerable struggle.
Yes, indeed, you need to bestow a lot of your time to make sure that your relationship persists. And at times, that might not be sufficient either.
And perhaps that’s why a lot of persons still decide on staying in a relationship that isn’t right for them. Perchance that’s why we keep struggling to fight for our relationship that doesn’t even have a single chance of surviving.
That may perhaps be the cause why a lot of us force our ways into love that wasn’t even meant to be. But is it okay to keep struggling with it until it gets to a point wherein pushing the condition may simply make things worse?
Believe me. That’s the point where most of the misfortune lies, indeed. A lot of persons suck at understanding when it calls to QUIT or to LET GO.
Then, here’s when the saying comes to your rescue:
“If you love something set it free. If it comes back it’s yours. If not, it was never meant to be.”
This is perchance the most ‘hard to accept’ yet most honest statement that has ever been made.
“If you love something set it free. If it comes back it’s yours. If not, it was never meant to be.” What does that mean?
With dazzling love comes agonizing pain; pain that expresses itself in the form of defeat. Truly, love is an experience while the agony is the price you pay when you fall for it – way too hard. A brutal circle, isn’t it?
I know how it feels to lose the one you love to an outside force. It is perhaps the most awful feeling we experience on our journeys all through our lifespan. A situation where someone doesn’t take your life away instead leaves you alive making you feel as if you’re lifeless inside. Still you keep breathing, walking and talking. You keep masking your pain while moving ahead with the sting becoming heavier and denser to carry along every single day. When you lose someone you love with all of your heart and passion but both of you stay away from each other as strangers, that’s the biggest defeat you will ever experience in life.
So, “If you love something set it free. If it comes back it’s yours. If not, it was never meant to be” is easier said than done.
After all, not a lot of us can muddle through the pain of doing it.
But then again, we all have to lose something or the other in our lives. We have to kick something back – at some point or another, even if we love it to the moon and back.
The truth of letting someone go to discover harmony goes against pretty much every single disposition we possess as human beings. We have a tendency to hold on to the things that provide us pleasure and love as we don’t want to be depressed.
That’s why, setting someone free, no matter how much it troubles you, is not an easy thing to do.
Of course, it’s hard to put someone’s happiness above our own as we’ve always been educated to hold on to things that make us feel cheerful.
But at times, this is a truth you have to live with. At times, it is essential for you to discover your happiness.
If you love something set it free. Learn to let go and allow the destiny to play its game.
Do you know that destiny has a hilarious way of determining your life journey? Well, sooner or later, it always gives you the best – regardless of the obstacles that you have to go through.
Of course, love calls for fighting for the one you think you deserve. But believe me – you must recognize your boundaries as well.
You must be capable to draw that line and make certain that you cross it – under no circumstances. You must know your limits and respect the limits set by your lover. Dredge up that if you ever cross that mark, there’s no backing off.
If you end up choking your mate, you may lose them forever. And it will be just because you denied letting go. It will all be because of your own obstinacy and obduracy; your reluctance to simply let go. So learn to let go. Respect their needs, desires and admit that they are their individual selves and accept the choices that they choose to make for their personal lives.
So, here’s where you need to put on, “If you love something set it free. If it comes back it’s yours. If not, it was never meant to be.”
For a fact, the insecurity and uncertainty of letting go is going to kill you. But that’s all right. It’s reasonable for you to get your expectations and trust in love up. It’s logical for you to still have faith in your love.
But understand that you have to take your hopefulness in healthy measures. You cannot allow your hopes to get up too high as you will simply set yourself up for utter let-down by doing so. Let that person go and keep up the least amount of hope that they would get back to you. Have faith that your love is strong enough to conquer whatsoever tests time and distance tosses at you.
If you love something set it free… But will they be ever back?
We just don’t have any control over what the reaction will be from the person we love. Will they ever come back? Or will they not? Well, there are few things you can’t control and if you try to, you haven’t really set them free. So, all you can do at the moment is be open, affectionate and available to accept whatsoever and at whatever time.
- What if they don’t come back?
Now, what if they decide on not coming back to you? Well, that’s all right. At this point, you need to understand that things are perhaps not meant to be. Plus you should be confident that it wasn’t you who decided to walk away from the relationship. You should be glad about how you tried to give the whole thing you could to the relationship and you must be proud of the work that you have done for it.
You can shoot ahead in life thinking that you did everything you could and that was expected of you. Now, at least you don’t need to have any qualms about how you handled the whole thing. You followed the generous, mature and unselfish approach and you can edge forward in your life acknowledging that you made the best out of a falling condition.
- What if they come back?
Now what if they decide to come back to you? At this point, they will appreciate you a lot more for providing them the independence and space that they wanted at a puzzling period in their life. They will love you for not choking them or cutting their wings when all they craved to do was to go on some self-searching expeditions.
And most prominently, if they come back to you, you will realize that your love is true for sure. You will be sure that your love can actually survive the test of time and distance. You will know that your love is unadulterated and pure indeed.
How to set them free when you really love them?
Strike a note that your emotional welfare is worth a lot more to stand in the way of somebody who wishes to be free. Your self-esteem is assessed by how hard you fight to confine somebody who wishes to be free. The span of time it will take for you to pull through and get better is often estimated by how long it takes you to let go as a final point.
If you have the nerve to let go, that means you are a step closer to make headway and gain ground. Flash on that when your partner requests you to be set free, they have already let go. That means, the choice on their part has been made already.
Now, if you stand in their way, you may perhaps find yourself emotionally or even mentally mistreated. So, if you have some esteem or love for yourself, then you should open the door and let them step down. Yes, it might be that tough, but it is that simple as well.
You need to bear in mind that the more hysterically you try to keep somebody from walking out, the more likely you’re going to push them back. Why? That’s because at that moment, your emphasis is not on their happiness and welfare; the emphasis is on your happiness and well-being.
If you really love somebody, wouldn’t you wish the best for them? Truly, you will, even at the cost of your crushed heart. After all, love isn’t about self-seeking, right?
Pin down that it is only by letting go that that you may start healing and catch up with your life. It is only then that you may start making yourself emotionally and psychologically prepared for a new life and love.
In the intervening time, the people who really were yours will come back to you at the end of the day. And if they don’t, they were certainly not yours.
So, if you love something set it free. If it comes back it’s yours. If not, it was never meant to be.
When your relationship turns dry or mute, it is time to see things in a new light and if needed let it go. If you notice that your partner is beating his or her wings against the glass, it is certainly the moment to let go and set them free.
Every so often, we hold onto our partners owing to self-centredness and obstinacy. Even though it hurts, we still hold on. But trust me; if your love is not reciprocated, then undeniably, it is not love. Nail down that love has two sides; the first is the one that is given while the other one is received.
Yes, it is possible to love somebody and not have them reciprocate it. But believe me such love is disheartening, empty, disappointing and miserable. And you deserve better than that, don’t you?
